Lately, I've been thinking about how I could provide meaning to the background of my heart collages. For the comic-con heart collage, I have taken photographs of the Nintendo game covers that the comic-con guest (Charles Martinet) has signed for me and cut out pieces of the inscriptions and other elements that were on the game covers. I plan to work with this concept of taking photos of signed items and cutting pieces of the inscriptions and elements for the rest of my comic-con heart collages.
For my parents' heart collages, I have taken photographs of some personal items that were meaningful to my parents and have cut out pieces of the items for the backgrounds. I have also incorporated photos of my parents that may express acts of kindness. Some of the personal item pieces that are on my dad's heart collage are also on my mom's heart collage. This expresses the memories they shared with those items.
