trying and failing to 3d print bugs
the bugs are modeled and this is attempt (and failure) #3 of trying to get them printed. i decided rather than going the route of making a mold, i just wanted to print the finished piece. attempts 1 & 2 of printing were made using the ceramic filament, and though #2 technically has yet to fail as of right now, winslow didn’t sound too confident about it when i asked earlier.
attempt #3 (photo) was sent underway using a different printer this afternoon, using a granite-infused PLA. the filament was too brittle and ended up snapping about an hour after i left the fab lab. a monitor and i are going in there later tonight to investigate further and discuss options going forward.
oh and also uh, finger bones
got the goods from the homme de pöt,
and i made some teeny bones to use as test subjects.
blogger is mad that i’m on my phone so just imagine that this grass photo is last. anyway, test subjects are tucked comfortably in the dirt. my money is on team rustoleum right now because it seemed the least mush during application. who knows though.

3D Letters Title & House
“It Takes A Village” Title of my show, 3D cardboard letters! Over halfway through with only 6 letters to go. To be fully painted, maybe to go with the rainbow theme.
As well as new house I made last week that I am currently painting!
exhibition layout and also i’m working on other stuff trust me bro i swear
i also made some progress on the base of the next piece and the jaw to go with it but i did not take any pictures. however, you’ll see it soon enough and it’s still a wip anyway so i truthfully and honestly do not care
done in snapchat because i could not be bothered to open my laptop again today.
also i’m doing a whole bunch of other actual graphic design stuff but i’m gonna hold off on actually showing it until i have the printed versions in hand. our card will be sent to press tomorrow (thursday) morning.when i sent stuff to press last week, i got my package back within three days, so hopefully the postal service will be equally as kind this time around.

Some New Comic-Con Collages + Layout Idea for Thesis Show
Over the weekend, I worked on some new comic-con heart collages. Alongside working on these collages, I have been thinking about the layout of my heart collages for the thesis show. Since I've been working with heart shapes for my project, I thought about maybe using a heart shape layout for my collages. The images on the layout concept are placeholders for now.
